The winning combination of Hemingway and Accoyo Victor bloodlines is legendary, and Hemingway’s Hemi-Accoyo Bravado is a beautiful medium fawn example of this powerful combination.

Bravado’s sire Hemingway and grandsire the late Accoyo Victor share a rare niche in the small handful of true impact males. Genetics passed through their top quality offspring are becoming ever more in demand, commanding higher prices and almost reaching an heirloom status.

His good pedigree goes deeper, though, as Bravado’s dam and granddam each have also produced multiple show winners, and several other working herdsires. Dr. Julio Sumar commented in 1999 that dam Victor’s Betsy Ross is "one of the nicest dark females I've seen in the U.S. to date."

Bravado’s fiber has a wonderfully soft handle, and is bundled and extremely dense. Uniformly consistent throughout the blanket with continuing good staple length and brightness, it exhibits 9 crimps per inch in the fine, high frequency Hemingway style fleece.

Perfect in conformation and bite, broad-chested and large boned, he possesses an absolutely gorgeous head. Bravado's presence is undeniable; he catches the attention of experienced breeders and newcomers alike who see him at the farm.

Of 13 cria by the end of 2007 birthing year, (7 females, 6 males), colors have ranged from dark brown to white, with most falling in the light brown to dark fawn ranges. Bravado has thrown colored crias out of white dams 85% of breedings, and our customers have been as happy with this as we are! Without exception, each cria has been an overall upgrade from the dam, several substantially so, with great coverage, very nice density, fine crimpy fleeces and well covered top knots. As is often the case, we've sold more females who have delivered Bravado crias than we've been able to keep on the farm, and we're happy to put you in contact with others for the purpose of researching his progeny.

We support every farm's need for exceptional breedings at reasonable prices; accordingly, Hemingway’s Hemi-Accoyo Bravado fee remains $2,000 for the 2008 breeding season. Financing, drive-by discounts and packages are available. Please contact us to explore the enormous potential this male has for enhancing your own herd. Co-owned with Underwood Alpacas.
